Dr. Tran Van Dien Reappointed as Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture & Forestry

On the 9th of December, a ceremony was launched to announce the Reappointment of Dr. Tran Van Dien to the position of Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture & Forestry.

The attendees were: Mr. Duong Ngoc Long - Deputy Thai Nguyen Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of Thai Nguyen People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung – Head of Organizing Board of Thai Nguyen Party Committee; Prof. Dr. Dang Kim Vui – President of Thai Nguyen University; leaders of relevant departments & members of Thai Nguyen University, leaders of TUAF partner research institutes/enterprises; and all lecturers & staffs.

Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), established in 1970, is a member unit of Thai Nguyen University. Since inception, TUAF has been recognized as the center for training, scientific research and technology transfer in agriculture, forestry, environmental and resource management, and rural development in the midland and northern mountainous provinces of Vietnam.

During his first term serving as Rector (2009-2014), Dr. Tran Van Dien has shown a great dedication and competence for the betterment of the university in order to meet the requirements for the Radical and comprehensive renovation of education and training. 

On behalf of Thai Nguyen University, Prof. Dr. Dang Kim Vui announced the reappointment to Dr. Tran Van Dien as Rector of TUAF for a second four-year term (2014-2019). In his address, Dr. Vui said the 2014-2019 term will be challenging, particularly with regard to implementation of the radical and comprehensive renovation of education and training. He also noted his belief that Dr. Dien will lead TUAF into an increasingly bright future.

At the ceremony, Mr. Duong Ngoc Long appreciated the achievements of TUAF. He also expressed his hope that under Dr. Dien’s directorship, TUAF will continue to contribute to the field of education & training as well as the development of Thai Nguyen Province.
